Courses, Workshops & 1-2-1s
We are very proud to be able to officially announce both our "Small Group" and "1-2-1" one day "Workshops and Courses". Should you be thinking of some additional practical tuition on your camera, equipment, photographic technique, setting up your PC, or some tuition on Adobe Photoshop. These courses and workshops are commonly seen as a good idea for a gift, a corporate day, or just as additional training for your or hobby. This could be exactly what you are looking for.
Natural History & Wildlife Photography
I assume that because you have already found your way to this section of our web site, thank you very much, you will possibly already have some kind of interest or involvement with one or more of wildlife, natural history and environmental subjects and/or species.
Commercial & Commissioned Photography
As many of you will already be aware, commercially John does not get involved in such work as weddings and people photography such as portraiture, however we do have some excellent contacts who specialise in these exact subjects, along with other specialised professionals. Digital Post Production, Enhancement & Restoration
The phrase "digital manipulation and restoration" can and does cover a multitude of sins!! This can range from doctoring an image to change its appearance, to create a master piece, being able to repair those old photographs, removing unwanted marks, converting colour to black and white or vice versa, and if you so wish, to be able to add sepia coloured effects. These are just a few of the processes that can be undertaken.
"Giclée Fine Art" Large Format Printing
Our large format printing service produces "Giclee" Fine Art quality prints. The system was originally installed for reproducing the personal images belonging to John. Due to the high demand and regularly requested, this service was to be made available to third party individuals and organisations. We are even giving regular support to other professional photographers, galleries, independent companies, and government organisations. Why not talk to us about your next order. This service has become of great interest to local art and painting groups for the purpose of reproducing their fine art works for sale. This is made possible due to our large format flatbed scanner providing a capacity up to A1.
Fine Art Giclee Print Sales
The images you can see in the gallery section are only a few of John's favourites. All of these and more besides are available for purchase as "Giclee Fine Art Prints", some of which are limited editions. If you do not see exactly what you are looking for, please do not hesitate in contacting us directly as our collection of images is now well in excess of 10,000 images. This year, 2011, we will also be introducing new collections and also a range of new limited edition pictures.

2012 Courses & Workshops
Fotographic Images are very pleased to be able to make available a series of bespoke courses and workshops which are targeted at photographers of all levels and capabilities. Also available is that of our very popular "One-2-One" tuition days. Some of the subjects covered in our workshops can include photographing Birds of Prey, Grey Seals, Sea Birds, Deer, Waterfalls and many more. Our course also cover a very wide and varied selection of topics including: How to Improve Your Camera Skills, Basic & Intermediate Digital Manipulation.
"1-2-1 or 1-2-2"
These courses and workshops have become extremely popular for "Fotographic Images" and are commonly used to purchase as a present or gift, may be for a love one.
You will see from the heading of "1-2-1 or 1-2-2" that this indicates you can share the day with a friend, this generates a considerable discounted for the both of you.

"Field Workshops"
The workshops shown in this section are all practical workshops, of a hands-on nature. You are guaranteed to improve your photographic skills and to have a thoroughly enjoyable day, irrespective of which event you decide to sign up for.
All the workshops includes some 1-2-1 tuition from international award winning wildlife photographer John Fairclough. John leads every workshop which Fotographic Images run.
Any safety issues which may have to be addressed and/or introductions given, will be done so whilst having your welcoming drink. By adopting this policy we will minimize the loss of your time actually taking pictures.

"Computer & Digital Courses"
All the courses listed under this heading are of an "classroom nature". The digitally based courses are all held in an "IT" room, exclusively available to Fotographic Images, providing everyone with their own individual PC and appropriate "Adobe" software, usually "Adobe Photoshop Elements".

Articles & Reviews
This section outlines an extremely wide and varied selection of articles and reviews which John has put together. The majority, if not all, of the articles include supporting pictures (even if not shown) or copy Pdf documents. These are made available to many different types of publishers both large and small, national and international.
General Articles etc:
For some time now John has been writting some articles and reviews for various newspapers and magazines. John's first article was picked up by the "Canon Eos" magazine and was a full page artice with additional pictures featuring his "trip of a life time" to the Falkland Islands.
Now John has an ever growing collection and would welcome an open discussion with any interested publisher.

Equipment etc:
This section will be reviewing various pieces of digital photographic and computer equipment including a wide and varied selection of accessories. You may be considering a purchase and want to read some totally independent and unbiased views before actually parting with that hard earnt cash!! If you have any ideas, suggestion or questions about something special to review just drop us a line.
The equipment being reviewed, will consist of some gear which I already use and some which is being lent to me by a selection of manufacturers and major UK equipment suppliers. No supplier has any form of corporate or legal connection with myself or my company "Fotographic images".
Camouflage Gear:
John is very proud of the fact that he has recently been approached by a new outdoor clothing company to the UK called "Stealth Gear Ltd". When John first looked at a "Stealth Gear" camouflage he was very impressed to say the very least. I think it is only fair to say that he was impresseed to a "wow" level.
Here are just two points which hit John as soon as he looked at the 4 piece suit.
(1) The camouflage suit package consists of 4 pieces; Jacket, Trousers, Fleece, and Waistcoat/Vest.

The locations and species featured in these articles have all been visited at one time or another by John and have impressed him sufficiently enough to want to convey the info gained onto you. Included in some of the articles are some relative technical details which you may find of assistance if and when you decide to visit any of these locations. The articles are all supported by a selection of photographs for you to choose from.

First of all, please do not be put off by the heading "Software & Books etc". This section is most certainly not a jargon busting, mind boggling series of articles. It is my intention to look at and reveiw a selection of photographic books and software. Hopefully some of the items I will be featuring will soon become as important to you as you're camera. In addition we will also be looking at the subject of "Copyrighting" and "Photography on the High Street".

Hints and Tips
Hopefully on a continual basis, we will be uploading useful snippets of information into this section "Hints and Tips". These will be split into two categories, firstly photographic techniques to experiment with when your out on a shoot or having a go indoors on a set up. Secondly a selection of different suggestions when next using your computer to manage, manipulate or finalise your images.
Equipment
A question which John gets asked many times over is about the equipment he uses and why. Some years ago when John decided to invest in new kit he decided to follow the Canon route. Later when John decided to go digital he made the decision to invest in using Adobe Photoshop as his principle software package. Should you have any further questions about this subject and the equipment, please do not hesitate in contacting us.
