Courses and Workshops

We are very proud to be able to officially announce both our "Small Group" and "One 2 One" one day "Workshops and Courses". "Giclée Fine Art" Large Format Printing

Our large format printing service produces "Giclee" Fine Art quality prints and was originally installed for John's personal photographic work. However due to the high demand of requests for this service by third party individual and organisations, it has now been made available to everyone. We are even giving regular support to other professional photographers, galleries and independent companies. Why not talk to us about your next order or requirements. This service has become especially of interest to local art and painting groups for the purpose of reproducing the works for sale.

Fine Art Giclee Print Sales

Digital Post Production, Enhancement & Restoration

The phrase "digital restoration" can and does cover a multitude of areas. This can include the repairing of old photographs, removing unwanted marks, converting colour to black and white or vice versa, or adding sepia coloured effects. These are just a few of the processes that can be undertaken.

Commissioned Photography

Commissioning a photographer is when the client specifically contracts a photographer, to obtain a specific photograph or selection of photographs. For example: book publishers, wedding photographers, corporate organisations, record companies and advertising & marketing agencies. These are just some of the types of services which could normally be commissioned.

Commercial Photography

As many of you will already be aware, commercially I don't get involved in wedding and people photography, however I have some excellent contacts who specialise in exactly these subjects I also have contact with other specialised professional covering many more subject, for example architecture and aeroplanes. For further information on the commercial photography I get involved in, or for wedding and people photographers, please follow this link.

35mm High Resolution Scanning

We have introduced this service at the request of many of our clients camera clubs and photographic friends who wish to convert their many excellent negatives and transparencies which they have collected over the years and now have filed away due to the massive migration to digital photography. All images scanned are outputted any colour correction, manipulation or interpolation to a minimum of 50mb files.

"Fotographic Images" only have a studio suitable for photographing such items as flora & fauna, still life objects, insects, ornaments and valuables etc. However many of our contacts do have studios for commercial usage and hire, please ask for details. Articles & Reviews

This section outlines an extremely wide and varied selection of articles and reviews which John puts together. The majority of articles include supporting pictures (even if not shown) or copy Pdf documents. These are made available to many different types of publishers both large and small, national and international.

Articles etc:

For some time now it has been my intention to write some articles and reviews for various magazines and newspapers. To make this possible I have had meetings with a number of newspaper and magazine editors which all proved to have a positive outcome. The first paper to agree a programme with myself was "The St Helens Star" which is a weekly paper and to begin with I was given a monthly column in the paper and a larger facility on the newspapers web site. The first magazine to publish one of my articles was the "Canon Eos" magazine.
More about all my publications and articles written ready for publication via the above link "Articles etc". Please have a look.

Equipment etc:

This section will be reviewing various pieces of digital photographic and computer equipment including a wide and varied selection of accessories. You may be considering a purchase and want to read some totally independent and unbiased views before actually parting with that hard earnt cash!! If you have any ideas or suggestion about something special to review just drop us a line.
The equipment being reviewed, will consist of some gear which I already use and some which is being lent to me by a selection of manufacturers and major UK equipment suppliers. No supplier has any form of corporate or legal connection with myself or my company "Fotographic images".

Camouflage Gear:

John is very proud of the fact that he has recently been approached by a new outdoor clothing company to the UK called "Stealth Gear". When John first looked at a "Stealth Gear" camouflage he was impressed to say the very least. I think it is onlt fair to say that he was impresseed to a "wow" level.
Here are just two points which hit John as soon as he looked at the 4 piece suit.
(1) The camouflage suit package consists of 4 pieces; Jacket, Trousers, Fleece, and Waistcoat/Vest.
(2) This has been made for photographers, amateur and professional alike, and is an all year round suit.
To view full reviews on all products produced by "Stealth Gear" please click on the above link "camouflage Gear" orif you wish to visit the "Stealth Gear" site, please click on their logo in the left hand column on this page.

Locations & Species:

The locations and species featured in these articles have all been visited at one time or another by myself and have impressed me sufficiently enough to want to convey the info gained onto you. Included in some of the articles are some relative technical details which you may find of assistance if and when you decide to visit any of these locations. The articles are all supported by a selection of photographs for you to choose from. ----

Software & Books etc:

First of all, please do not be put off by the heading "Software & Books etc". This section is most certainly not a jargon busting, mind boggling series of articles. It is my intention to look at and reveiw a selection of books and software packages which may most certainly be of use to you in your style of processing your images. Some of the topics we will be looking at are Copyrighting, Adobe Elements & Photoshop, Lighting Techniques, Books and Plug-Ins just to mention but a few.

FAQ's

John has decided to introduce this section in hopes of being able to give you access to a series of prompt and immediate answers to regular but sometimes perhaps very important question, especially to you.

Hints and Tips

Hopefully on a continual basis, we will be uploading useful snippets of information into this section "Hints and Tips". These will be split into two categories, firstly photographic techniques to experiment with when your out on a shoot or having a go indoors on a set up. Secondly a selection of different suggestions when next using your computer to manage, manipulate or finalise your images.

Equipment

A question which John gets asked many times over is about the equipment he uses and why. Some years ago when John decided to invest in new kit he decided to follow the Canon route. Later when John decided to go digital he made the decision to invest in using Adobe Photoshop as his principle software package. Should you have any further questions about this subject and the equipment, please do not hesitate in contacting us.

Check List

The following points are simply a few suggestions towards producing your own check list for use before going out on a photo shoot, irrespective of whether it is a day out, an over night/long weekend photo shoot, or a longer photographic holiday, safari or commission.
