Newsletter – MARCH 09.
I am very pleased to be able to let you all know that I have recently agreed with
"The St Helens Star" newspaper to write a new column for the paper featuring "Natural History & Wildlife". I will be featuring locations principally within our own borough of St Helens. The first edition should be published week commencing 30th Marh 2009, yes this coming weeks publication.
The column is initially going to be published in the paper on a monthly basis and hopefully on the "Stars" web site. Naturally I will advise everyone as and when any schedule changes are made. When the column is up and running, hopefully it may be possible to have some additional space on the web site which will create more opportunity’s for full interaction with the readers.
It is my intention and plans (so far) to include articles on such topics as the boroughs local nature reserves and open green spaces, and to include where and when it may be possible to see certain species. I also hope to include some protected species. The councils ranger section, along with other organisations very often run events which can be great fun, educational and photographic. Hopefully it will be possible to inform you of these events before and not after!!
From time to time such extras as photographic hints & tips along with reviews on new books, pieces of kit and software will be looked at.
Included in each publication will be a "What To Look Out For Next Month" which should be self explanatory.
If you would like to become involved in the column by making suggestions, submitting topics and locations etc, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me via the contact page on my web site
