Photography Workshops: "Flower Photography"

This workshop is an ideal introduction to the new world of "Flower & Plant Photography", otherwise known as "Garden and Woodland Photography" and will be led by myself.  The emphasis of this day will be on exploring the creative approaches to the subjects, rather than just taking the traditional "record" shot of a flower. This workshop will be held in one of the "North Wests" leading garden centres.

The workshop will commence with a welcoming cup of tea or coffee (provided) at around 10.00. A short time will be spent discussing the skills and techniques required to help in creating that very evocative image, as opposed to the usual "every day" shot. Throughout the morning session there will be continuing opportunity's to ask questions and have open discussions.

Following your lunch (not provided), we will then continue to photograph some more beautiful species. I will be available throughout the entire day for guidance, to answer any questions and to give that one to one tuition.

Finally, for those of you with digital cameras (compacts or D-SLRs), the day will end with a digitally projected show of some of "your" images of the day, providing the opportunity to constructively comment on each image. The day will be drawn to a conclude at approximately 16.30

This course is suitable for anyone and everyone. There are only three principle requirements, one being to own a camera, secondly to enjoy taking pictures, and last but by no means least to have a familiarity with your camera. It will be a great advantage if your camera has some degree of manual control as opposed to being fully automatic.

What equipment do you need, we hear you ask?

There are only a few essential pieces of equipment which you really need to bring. These are quite obvious, however we will run through them.

These are : -  Camera (Compact, SLR, D-SLR), Lens's from wide angle to telephoto, and plenty of Memory Cards or Films.  Extra gear may include : - Tripod, a Macro Lens, a Flash gun, remote cables etc. Something to kneel on makes things more comfortable!!  We will have with us some additional memory cards, tripods and bean bags, and possibly the facility to download your memory cards.

It is always our recommendation, that when attending a workshop bring what you bring what ever equipment you have or may consider using. It would be a great shame to attend a days photography with such an experienced professional and suddenly realise that something you could have used is sat in the drawer at home, and we have all done this at some time or other.

This workshop is basically a hands-on day with a little theory session. We will also be running more advanced and practical outdoor workshops in the same subjects.

Please note that none of our course or workshop fees include that of meals, addmission charges and travelling costs (if applicable) and are subject to the terms of trade as laid down by Fotographic Images. Theft, accidental damage and public liability insurance is the responsability of each individual client.
