January Newsletter 2011 No2

Hi.

Hopefully by now you have all got over the festive season, the extra indulging and in some cases the extremely bad weather and that your photography has not suffered in any way.

Since my last newsletter I have once again been experiencing a few problems with my Mac computer, however hopefully all is now sorted thanks to "Apple - iverpool One", The team have worked very closely with me and after being unable to find the problem - no it's not me - honest!! they have exchanged mine for a brand new machine. Cheers guys.

The only problem with undertaking such a dramatic move is all the bespoke settings, preferences, presets that have to be copied over and double-checked.

Proposed Sell-off of OUR Forests

Those of you who paid attention when at school may recall the story of the birth of the national parks, soon to be followed by forests and open spaces. Of course I am talking about when the public campaigned and walked onto the property of private land owners in 1951 and following this the "Peak District" became the first "National Park".

Not wishing to get political, but just in case you weren't aware of it, one of the present policies which is being considered is to sell off some of the countries finest forest and national parks areas. No matter whether you enjoy walking, climbing, photography, just to mention but a few pastimes, I ask you to consider giving your support.

Environmental Commission.

For the past few months I have been involved in creating a photographic record of one of the UK's finest electrical recycling centres. The centre in question specialises in completely recycling all domestic electrical appliances, including the dreaded unwanted fridge's, freezers and of course the CFC gasses. It was a great feeling of satisfaction when I completed this project mid January.
