Photography Workshops: "Birds of Prey Day"

This workshop always proves to be very  popular for those of you who would like to get close up and personal with some of the most rare and exotic birds of prey from around the natural world. To handle and position the birds into prime photographic locations.

On arrival we will split all the delegates into two groups and each group will work with an individual falconist and 4 birds. Following your lunch break each group will swap falconers and birds, therefore giving everyone the opportunity to work with all the birds. Possibly and hopefully, at the end of the day, the opportunity may present itself to have some "birds in flight" photography.

Some of the birds which may be used are:- Barn Owls, European Eagle Owls, African Spotted Owls, Ferruginous Hawk, Harris Hawk, Perigrine Flacon, along with another a couple of birds and possibly some chicks. We will always do our utmost to present all the birds in a manner which becomes the birds natural habitat and background.

Hopefully we will be able to accomodate any specifically requested ideas that you may have to create that one off idea you have come up.

This workshop has been designed to accommodate people with all levels and knowledge of photography, experience and equipment, including owners of compact cameras, film SLRs or Digital SLRs. No matter what you have already done and what equipment you have, we will guarantee to send you home with some excellent shots and a nice big smile on your face.

We will be on hand throughout the day to help and suggest new techniques and compositional idea's along with the opportunity to get the pictures you may have only previously seen in books and exhibitions.

What equipment do I need?

The day is suitable for people with knowledge at all levels of photography and equipment such as:-  Compact, SLRs, D-SLRs, Lens's from wide angle to a medium zoom and plenty of memory cards, films and batteries. Also it can be very handy to have a flash with you, but most certainly not essential.  Extra gear may include : - Tripod, a bean bag, Macro Lens's, and remote controls etc. We will have with us some additional memory cards, tripods and bean bags, and possibly the facility to download your memory cards.

It is always our recommendation, that when attending a workshop you bring what ever equipment you have or may consider using. It would be a great shame to attend a days photography with such an experienced professional team and suddenly to realise that something you could have used is sat in the drawer at home, and we have all done this at some time or other!!
