Welcome to our most recent edition of the newsletter by "Fotographic Images" This month we have not only news about Fotographic Images, but also some news and information about photographic competitions, a portraiture seminar, etc.
Benedict Wood Art Day:
For the past 18 or so I have been working with the "Woodland Trust" and a group of volunteers who have formed a new organisation called "The Benedict Wood Group". The main objective of the organisation is to re kindle (excuse the pun) the old "Foxes Wood" which was located in the Avon division of the late "Rainhill Hospital" grounds; now known as "Benedict Wood".
On Sunday 27 July the "Benedict Group" held an arts morning which organised various events for local children and youth groups to be involved in. These where all centred around different subjects of the natural world which can be found on and around "Benedict Wood". The activities included clay masks, box gardens, identifying flowers, shrubs and insects, making tree figures, and I attended to show some images and to give some basic advice on how to improve their photography.
Puffins:
I know that many of you regularly make one of the nature photographers pilgrimage to the UKs finest bird colony, (in my opinion), the "Farnes Islands". This being the case I thought you be interested in the recent news regarding the unexpected drop in the population of Puffins in an around the coastline of the UK. For those of you who wish to look at this in more depth visit
