Photography Workshops: "Digital Imaging & Manipulation"

The content of this course now replaces that of the old "chemical darkroom" and has become much more commonly known as "the digital darkroon". However a great number of the same techniques and phrases are still being used as in the old days. In doing so we use some ofme of the very latest in digital software and technology. It is a subject which should be enjoyed immensely, in-fact it is my opinion that working in your digital darkroom is more fun than the traditional darkroom, but you may think differently!!

These courses will not only be furthering your knowledge of digital manipulation, but will also give you a greater and easier understanding of this subject and in turn make it more fun for you to use.

As you are most likely aware, the industry now has many different types and makes of photographic software packages. In this case I will concentrate on "Adobe Photoshop Elements V7" and CS3/CS4.

Each course will be presented at one of the following two levels thus making it far easier for us to spend the maximum amount of time on each topic. The courses will be presented with the aid of a computer and digital projector and in some cases we occupy a fully equiped IT room giving every attendee their own PC to work on.

It is important to note that you will not be required to spend your day scribbling down notes. Thank heavens we hear you say!!!  Detailed notes of the course will be given at the end of the event.

A typical course may include some or all of the following:

Level 1:  Importing images, Building a filing system,  Save As/Save,  Backing up, Batch Numbering & Titles, Colour Space Settings, Toolbox contents and functions, Levels, Contrast & Brightness, Cropping, Cleaning an image, Selecting working an exact part of an image, Sharpening, Blending, and Basic Layers.
