John Fairclough is the sole proprietor of Fotographic Images, and is supported 100% by his wife Carol. They have been married for many years now, in which time they have been blessed with two great Children, and three brilliant grandchildren. John has always been involved in and around the arts and music industry for the majority of his working life.
They where in business together for over 27yrs, before being successfully bought out in 2003. Their original business was to create the largest audiocassette duplication company, in the North of England and in the later years they became involved in the production of CDs and DVDs. John was also very involved in the re-writing and the re-introduction of the Copyright & Patent Act 1988 for the music industry.
Johns photography started back in 1988, when Carol found him a hobby. Possibly to get him out from under her feet!! Throughout the years, Johns photographic achievements have gone from strength to strength, resulting in being extremely competitive at a professional level. One of Johns highest achievments was to win first prize in an international wild life competition, that took him to the Falkland Islands.
Its not uncommon to see them out on a shoot, although Carol does not get involved with the actual taking of the pictures. John always claims that Carols most important role is as his second pair of eyes.
As a professional duo they always work well together. Their basic rolls are that John takes care of the photography, post production and final printing, whilst Carol gets very involved in the research, image selection/critic, and accounts.
This very brief biography tends to emphasise one main point. They are a very determined, successful and genuine couple who give nothing less than 100% to anything they commit to.
If you have any concerns or more specific questions or proposals, please do not hesitate in contacting John and Carol via the contact section. They will always be very pleased to hear from you.
As a company we offer numerous services and facilities some of which include Workshops & Courses, Image & Print sales, High Resolution 35mm Scanning, Large Format Printing etc. For a full list and further details, please see our services page.
The proprietor of Fotographic Images, John Fairclough, is a member of two industry organisations, The Royal Photographic Society and The Photographic Alliance of Great Britain. John has been awarded distinctions by both organisations for some of his photographic works.
John has decided to introduce this section in hopes of being able to give you access to a series of prompt and immediate answers to regular but sometimes perhaps very important question, especially to you.
Hopefully on a continual basis, we will be uploading useful snippets of information into this section "Hints and Tips". These will be split into two categories, firstly photographic techniques to experiment with when your out on a shoot or having a go indoors on a set up. Secondly a selection of different suggestions when next using your computer to manage, manipulate or finalise your images.
A question which John gets asked many times over is about the equipment he uses and why. Some years ago when John decided to invest in new kit he decided to follow the Canon route. Later when John decided to go digital he made the decision to invest in using Adobe Photoshop as his principle software package. Should you have any further questions about this subject and the equipment, please do not hesitate in contacting us.
The following points are simply a few suggestions towards producing your own check list for use before going out on a photo shoot, irrespective of whether it is a day out, an over night/long weekend photo shoot, or a longer photographic holiday, safari or commission.

The links posted on this website are all placed because of an inter working relationship between John, Fotographic Images and the links in question. Links are not posted on an add-hoc basis.
The business information section of this site, which can be found behind this link is commonly known as the boring information about who is what and what is who.
We we have included a "site map" for various reason, however principally we have done this to make your use and access of our site far more user freindly.
This is very much known as the really boring section, if you thought the "Privacy Policy" was boring, well you haven't read anything yet!!
This section lays out in considerable detail how we trade as a company in conjuction with the laws of the UK.
We at Fotographic Images believe very strongly about preserving a person privacy, hence the reason why we have adopted this policy.
